 Captain Bo began his addiction to fishing at a young age, with his parents on the east central coast of Florida. Whether it was on the flats of Mosquito Lagoon or bass on the local lakes and rivers, Bo was ready for the adventure. Of course, there were times he couldn't go fishing, but that didn't stop him from chasing the family dog around the yard with a fly rod pretending she was a cruising fish. It wasn't long before he had his own boat, and discovered that if he fished in shallow water and was very quiet he would see these little fins pop up and expose themselves to the morning sun. What he didn't know was what he was doing way back then would explode into the craze that it has become today.
It is thought to be true that Capt. Bo was conceived in the Keys. The old Howard Johnson to be exact! Charter Fishing in Key West waters from the Marquesas Keys to Marathon for over 15 years, he has become one with the fish and their behavioral patterns.
With his endeavors in the United States Coast Guard, he has traveled all over the country and world for that matter and has gained irreplaceable fishing experiences and knowledge which show through his stewardship on the water. Permanently moving to Key West in 2002, Capt. Bo set out to fulfill his dream and fish professionally by establishing the Shallow Minded Charter Company. Nowadays, you can find him charter fishing in Key West on the flats in the Marquesas Keys not only in search of a fish, but an unforgettable memory and story for the future.
Captain Bo is sponsored and/or on Professional Guide programs from companies such as Sage, Tibor, Smith Action Optics, and the Maverick Boat Co. His tools of the trade consist of a Quiver of fly rods from 7-12 weight manufactured by Sage. The models range from the tried and true XP series, the versatile XI2's, and the super technical TCR series. Lines in all weights very from fast shooting weight forward floating heads to sinking style lines for those fish who think they're safe a little deeper. If fly fishing is not your thing, don't worry.
